Jerry Springer, who hosted The Jerry Springer Show for 27 years, died April 27 astatine his home in Chicago, his publicist confirmed to NBC News. He was 79.

As helium recalled during the podcast, the institution that hired Springer as an anchor was besides liable for daytime TV shows. So, erstwhile determination was a spot unfastened by Phil Donahue's retirement, Spring stepped in.
