The Muller's Wheel serves as a metaphor for the synthesis and creativity Mueller applies to his musical influences. Cross-pollination, cyclical pilgrimages, the trial and error of improvisation, the process of theme and variations. "Müller's Wheel" also fuses funk, jazz, philosophy and hope.

Edited and remastered by producer Kenny Cash, Factory Underground Studio, from the  2011 original version (from the album "The Muller's Wheel").

"Best of Tobin Mueller, Vol. 1" includes bop, funk, fusion, blues, New Orleans, world and big band, encapsulating Mueller's long career. Other players featured include bass legend Ron Carter, Grammy winning guitarist Paul Nelson, saxophonist Donny McCaslin, trumpeter Carl Fisher (worked with Maynard Ferguson), plus many more.

"Contemporary jazz at its finest." - JAZZIZ Magazine

"Nothing short of excellent. Tobin Mueller, who has performed across the entire spectrum of jazz, combines genres to recreate a fabulous assortment of jazz classics." - O's Place Jazz Magazine

"Tobin Mueller composes some of the freshest, well-crafted jazz tunes of the era. He adroitly combines post bop, fusion, funk and progressive Big Band in entertaining and unique ways. Woody Mankowski's skill on saxophone is a joy to experience, as are the contributions of bass legend Ron Carter. A highly anticipated collection..."  - Dr. Jazz (Bob Cohen)
